For the last 19 years, Eastside Soccer Camp has been recognized as the most popular camp in Metro Detroit. Designed and directed by Hall of Fame Coach Thaier Mukhtar, the camp welcomes over 600 boys and girls from schools all over the tri-county area every July.
Players will spend the week learning the game the right way, working hard, and having fun. Join thousands of Eastside Soccer Camp alumni that have improved their understanding of the game and taken their skills to the next level.
Coach Mukhtar has been a high school varsity coach for 31 years at both De La Salle High School (1982-2012) and Fraser High School (since 2004). He's coached over 900 games, compiling an incredible overall record of 653 wins, 134 losses, and 114 ties. Coach Mukhtar has been recognized for his achievements at every level. Some of his notable accomplishments include: 2008 National Coach of the Year, 10-Time State Coach of the Year, 3-Time Midwest Coach of the Year, 1998 CHSL Hall of Fame Inductee, 2005 Macomb County Hall of Fame Inductee, and 2013 Michigan Coaches Hall of Fame Inaugeral Inductee.
Coach Mukhtar's teams have also achieved incredible success. In boys soccer, Coach Mukhtar has compiled an amazing overall record of 531 wins, 98 losses, 88 ties. He led De La Salle to 5 Division 1 State Championships (1990, 1992, 1993, 2000, 2005), 26 District Titles, and 18 Catholic League Titles. In two seasons at Fraser, he's led the Ramblers to their first District Title in 15 years and back-to-back Division crowns. Coach Mukhtar has placed 120 players on All State and has sent 59 formers players to NCAA DIvision 1 Programs.
In girls soccer, Coach Mukhtar has been at the helm at Fraser for 10 seasons and compiled an overall record of 122 wins, 36 losses, and 26 ties. He's led the Lady Ramblers to 3 District titles and 8 MAC Division crowns. He's placed 10 players on All State and has sent 12 former players on to college soccer programs.
Every team will be trained by a current or former NCAA college player who has experience in working with young athletes.
Various High School coaches and Club coaches will also be aiding in the development of the players throughout the week of camp.
Goaltenders will be trained by two current NCAA goaltenders.
A speed and agility coach who will work with the players on their speed, agility, and endurance and provide some exercises to take home to continue to improve.
